Tune your avatar
Tune one avatar at a time. Start from the shipped values, then use a short repeatable motion to evaluate each change.
1. Load the avatar and settings
Load the avatar first. Load its settings if you already saved one. Do not expect the same settings to fit a different avatar.
2. Turn on Comparison if needed
Use Display > Comparison to check changes:
- Off: show only the corrected avatar.
- Ghost: show a comparison overlay.
- Side by side: show corrected and source motion together.
3. Adjust retargeting
In Retarget tab, there are six Retarget adjustments for proportion and pose differences between the actor and avatar. See Retarget Adjustments
4. Tune spatial hand alignment
Spatial Hand uses the hand position relative to the head or shoulders, then places a target for the avatar hand IK. This can help hand gestures retain their context better.
You can tune in Spatial Hand tab. See Spatial Hands
5. Tune smoothing
By default, MocapSeitai smoothes the final motion before sending out.
However, you should be check if your receiver app also does smoothing, in order to avoid double-smoothing.
You can turn off or adjust smoothing in Smoothing tab.
6. Save
Save the settings when the result is good. You can save your settings in Setup tab. Settings are not auto-saved nor auto-loaded.
7. Experiment with experimental features
If hands still enter the body, see Hand anti-penetration.
